Portly Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
Portly ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains the information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information Portly Handles
- Content you create, including meal history, saved meals, recipes, ingredients, notes, nutrition details, serving information, food preferences, and shopping-list state.
- Photos, camera captures, and PDF files you choose for meals or recipe import.
- App preferences such as theme and meal options.
- Purchase status supplied by Apple when you use Premium.
How Information Is Used
Your content is used to provide meal logging, recipe organization, nutrition tools, shopping lists, import, and export. Portly stores this content locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not operate a developer-controlled cloud database.
Camera, Photos, and Files
Portly accesses a photo, camera capture, PDF, or export folder only when you choose the corresponding feature. Selected content is processed for the feature you requested and stored locally when needed. Exported files go to the location you select.
External Shopping Links
If you choose an external shopping action, Portly may ask iOS to open a supported retailer app or website. That retailer handles your activity under its own privacy policy. Portly does not receive your retailer account or payment details.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Apple processes Premium purchases and provides the transaction status needed to unlock features. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Subscription management and restoration are handled through Apple.
Diagnostics
We may receive crash logs or diagnostics that you choose to share with Apple and developers. This information is used to diagnose bugs and improve stability.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not require an account or login.
- We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not intentionally upload your meal, recipe, photo, or nutrition content to developer-controlled servers.
Your Choices
You control which photos, files, and folders Portly can access. iOS permissions can be changed in Settings. Portly also provides controls for clearing meal history, saved meals, and recipes. Removing the app removes its locally stored app data, subject to device backups managed by Apple.
Health Notice
Portly is an organizational tool, not a medical service. Information entered into the app is not used to provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
